You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Infant/Toddler Program Specialist provides technical assistance through consultation to infant/toddler educators and programs and is based in Yamhill County. The Infant/Toddler Program Specialist is a specialized position focused on increasing the availability and quality of infant and toddler education in Marion Polk and Yamhill Counties.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field (Human Development Child & Family Studies Social Work Sociology or Psychology) or a Step 10 on the Oregon Registry Online (ORO) with coursework in child development or ability to achieve ORO Step 10 within one year of hire.
Two or more years of infant/toddler experience in an early learning program.
Coursework in infant/toddler development.
CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS
Driver qualifications are required for this position. Valid driver license insured vehicle available for use on the job and a satisfactory drive record for the previous three years are required.
Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.
Successful registration with the Central Background Registry of the Child Care Division.
CPR/First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Possess or ability to obtain master trainer status in Oregon Registry Online.
Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screenings.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITES
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for infants and toddler age children.
Ability to facilitate the implementation of teaching practice and program improvement goals.
Experience presenting trainings to adults virtually and/or in-person.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.
Conducts regular focused observation of early childhood educators.
Provides observational feedback that highlights strengths and areas of growth in teaching practices.
Serves as a resource in identifying appropriate research-based instructional strategies and interventions to improve outcomes for infant/toddler programs children and families.
Provides ongoing consultation and support around effective delivery of infant/toddler care.
Provides general technical assistance/quality improvement support for early care and education professionals/programs who support infants/toddlers.
Supports early care and education professionals with Oregon Registry Professional Development goals.
Provides infant/toddler training and development to early care and education professionals in person and/or virtually.
Recruits infant/toddler early care and education professionals in Marion Polk & Yamhill Counties.
Recruits infant/toddler educators into Child Care Networks/Communities of Practice.
Facilitates or supports in the facilitation of infant/toddler peer learning communities which may include but are not limited to:
Focused Child Care Networks
Communities of Practice
Content driven cohort groups
Identifies infant/toddler resource available to assist early care and education professionals in Marion Polk & Yamhill Counties.
Responds to referrals from and collaborates with community partners licensing and CCR&R staff to engage and support Infant/Toddler programs.
Understands key competencies best practice standards and infant/toddler program components (e.g. curriculum assessment family engagement NAEYC standards and competencies).
Participates in professional learning opportunities required by the Early Learning Division including but not limited to Communities of Practice Zero to Three training certifications and job related training.
Maintains documentation to meet program and state requirements.
Complies with MWVCAA safety and personnel policies including punctuality and attendance.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
There are no supervisory duties in this position.

Exercises judgement in determining day-to-day priorities set within Agency policies and guidelines.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Indoor office work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
Working with coworkers/clients over the phone using video conferencing tools and in-person.
Frequent on-site support at early learning programs.
Intermittent evening weekend and remote work as assigned.
