Job Description

Human Resources Generalist

Full time/Exempt

Location: Cherry Hill NJ

Compensation Range: $55000 - $75000 annually

Reports to: Director of Human Resources

Position Summary:

The Human Resources Generalist supports the daily operations of the HR department with a focus on employee relations policy administration benefits and leave coordination and compliance with employment laws and internal procedures. This role is instrumental in ensuring smooth and consistent HR processes maintaining accurate records addressing employee inquiries and promoting a professional and supportive workplace culture. The HR Generalist also contributes to organizational effectiveness by assisting with audits internal reporting and the implementation of HR best practices across all locations.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Support new hire orientation and training often by facilitating onboarding and orientation presentations remotely and in-person.
  • Respond to employee candidate and supervisor inquiries escalating sensitive or complex matters to HR leadership as appropriate.
  • Support employee disciplinary meetings terminations and investigations.
  • Maintain compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Stay current on HR trends legal developments and best practices to support ongoing improvement of HR operations.
  • Maintain a strong HR presence across multiple sites through periodic travel professional relationship-building and consistent policy enforcement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Team:

This role will be part of the Human Resources team reporting to the Director of Human Resources working as a direct line of support for staff in multiple states and locations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2-year degree in Human Resources Management required
  • 2-4 years of experience in human resources management with a strong understanding of HR practices and employment laws
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and navigate conflict professionally
  • Exceptional organizational time management and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to apply sound judgment maintain confidentiality and demonstrate integrity in all HR-related matters
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems with an ability to learn new technologies quickly

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in human resource management preferred
  • SHRM or HRCI designation preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred
