The Radar Mechanical Design Department leads mechanical design development and integration of some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world. This includes phased array radar systems electronic modules pedestals and power and cooling systems. The department comprises individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design integration and production support.
Thisonsite role will be based inMarlborough MAor Tewksbury MA. At least part-time on-site support will be required in Tewksbury MA
What you Will Do:
The LTAMDS Array Electronics Mechanical Product Lead will provide mechanical leadership both technical and project management for a set of products within the Array sub-IPT (Integrated Product Team).
Responsible for executing the design development production and delivery of RF and electronic modules and subassemblies including RF/signal distribution amplification control and calibration for phase arrays.
Ownership over these items across multiple contracts and spanning multiple years including efforts critical to support future growth.
Govern contract scope while accommodating break-in of new design capabilities and producibility improvements.
Provide technical conscience challenged with making sure the product and process meet appropriate standards and requirements
Ensure balance with risk conditions and constraints while advising leadership
Support Array sub-IPT Lead with Earned Value (EV) program planning budgeting proposals and Risk & Opportunity Management pertaining to Array Mechanical Electronics Hardware
Manage Engineering production support while simultaneously balancing resulting performance with the ability to meet the customers critical schedule requirements across LTAMDS contracts
Maintain effective relationships with internal technical and programmatic stakeholders including the IPT Leads Operations & Supply Chain Quality Lifecycle Engineering Chief Engineers and Engineering Finance. Strong demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills are required to help drive the team to meet program milestones and ensure alignment with the roadmap.
Lead and train mechanical team members in the design and build of electronic modules interconnects and other array-level components as well as support system integration test and fielding activities.
Interface with other mechanical and electrical engineers but will often be required to collaborate with cross-functional teams program offices and customers.
Coordinate root cause / corrective action (RCCA) investigations of fielded Array mechanical hardware issues including leading development of engineering changes and supporting manufacturing data packages
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or n Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience.
A minimum of eight 8 years of experience in mechanical design
Experience with phase array structures and/or hardware packaging and/or array integration for military or mechanical or commercial applications
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Cognizant of machine suppliers capabilities or have direct experience in a manufacturing and assembly support role for producibility
Familiarity with the design and manufacturing processes of CCAs mechanical/RF components metal housings and electronics assemblies
Strong technical background with high technical aptitude
Strong leadership skills and project management
Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software
Experience with PTC Windchill Product Data Management or equivalent configuration/data management software
Very strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills when working with team members and customers
Experience with project management.
Broad knowledge of RTX projects or defense industry programs or systems in order to provide enhancements within job area.
