Job Description

We are looking for a Defects and Aftercare Manager to provide expert technical advice on the new build programme ensuring effective quality control and compliance with all construction-related matters. Lead the defects management process while maintaining excellent customer care.

What youll be doing

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers and stakeholders to resolve defects within the 12-month contractual defect period.
  • Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to manage defects end of inspections and improve KPI performance and reporting.
  • Ensure effective contract management and contractor performance during the defect period monitoring trends and producing reports for data analysis.
  • Manage the resolution of outstanding defects through external contractors or the CHP in-house team ensuring value for money and recharging the original contractor as needed.
  • Offer expert advice on new build component warranties during the defects period acting as lead officer for CHP Groups NHBC builder responsibilities.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in team management within new homes industry or similar sector.
  • Strong construction knowledge particularly regarding defects and issues in new residential builds; building materials trades and construction methods.
  • Familiarity with processes for defect resolution and customer service in a construction setting.
  • Confident in liaising with customers and contractors to ensure timely high-quality work with an emphasis on excellent customer service
  • Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations statutory requirements construction warranties and building control.
  • Strong project and contract management skills.
