Job Description
We are looking for a Defects and Aftercare Manager to provide expert technical advice on the new build programme ensuring effective quality control and compliance with all construction-related matters. Lead the defects management process while maintaining excellent customer care.
What youll be doing
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers and stakeholders to resolve defects within the 12-month contractual defect period.
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to manage defects end of inspections and improve KPI performance and reporting.
- Ensure effective contract management and contractor performance during the defect period monitoring trends and producing reports for data analysis.
- Manage the resolution of outstanding defects through external contractors or the CHP in-house team ensuring value for money and recharging the original contractor as needed.
- Offer expert advice on new build component warranties during the defects period acting as lead officer for CHP Groups NHBC builder responsibilities.
What we are looking for
- Experience in team management within new homes industry or similar sector.
- Strong construction knowledge particularly regarding defects and issues in new residential builds; building materials trades and construction methods.
- Familiarity with processes for defect resolution and customer service in a construction setting.
- Confident in liaising with customers and contractors to ensure timely high-quality work with an emphasis on excellent customer service
- Comprehensive knowledge of building regulations statutory requirements construction warranties and building control.
- Strong project and contract management skills.

- 37 hours per week - employees may be able to work flexibly by agreement with their line manager taking account of business need. We operate a hybrid working policy at CHP.
