Job Purpose:
This position in the outpatient general pediatrics department will provide collaborative compassionate and dedicated care to children in the community regardless of their medical complexity. This position will also allow for opportunities in the areas of mentoring and education as well as organizational citizenship to further Bethany Childrens Health Centers continued growth and to serve our mission.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provision of direct care to outpatients at Bethany Childrens Health Center
Conducting office visits
Ordering and evaluating diagnostic tests and referrals
Documentation related to visits and patient contact
Call responsibilities

Supervising mentoring and educating
Collaborating with Advanced Practice Providers in patient evaluation and management
Supervising and facilitating educationfor PGY-2 and PGY-3 pediatric residents in a continuity clinic setting
Providing education and shadowing opportunities for students

Fostering patient care collaboration
Consulting with in-house outpatient specialists
Communicating with in-house outpatient therapists
Facilitating transitions of care with in-house inpatient medical staff

Organizational citizenship
Participate in at least one hospital-based committee
Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) endeavors
Actively participate in Medical Staff activities

Qualifications:
Education:
Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency training program in pediatrics
Experience:
2 years of post-graduate pediatric clinic experience preferred but not required
License/Certification/Credential:
M.D. or D.O. and board eligible or board certified (preferred) in general pediatrics

Bethany Childrens Health Center is an innovative leader in the field of pediatric rehabilitation and 24-hour complex care. The hospital offers inpatient and outpatient services for children (ages 0-21) and is the only inpatient pediatric rehabilitation facility in Oklahoma. Our CARF accredited multidisciplinary team works with patients and their families to maximize the patients physical and cognitive potential and ensure the family has the training and resources needed for a smooth transition from hospital to home. In 2021 the hospital received accreditation fromThe Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) the nations original independent accreditation program recognized by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). This distinction confirms that Bethany Childrens Health Center is providing high quality patient care as determined by an external process of evaluation.
