Job Description Summary

The GE Aerospace Dayton Cores and Castings Team is delivering world class Turbine Airfoil Cores and Castings through speed innovation and collaboration by disrupting the industry with manufacturing technology being the fastest NPI development in the industry supporting our supply base and delivering on critical business needs. The FLIGHT DECK Manager will teach and coach the organization on GE Aerospaces Lean Operating model to drive cultural transformation resulting in improved performance across operational business metrics.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

FLIGHT DECK Fundamentals:

  • Align site to FLIGHT DECK GE Aerospaces Lean Operating model by acting as a resource to educate coach and practice FLIGHT DECK principles and tools.
  • Lead the development of Value Stream Maps and Kaizen Roadmaps to close gaps in operational business metrics.
  • Establish pull and flow to connect customer demand to processes throughout the value stream.
  • Drive the development and closure of action plans through effective operating cadences.
  • Sustain and improve the sites Daily & Visual Management System.
  • Deploy standard work as the foundation for everyone to continually improve their work.
  • Lead the implementation of 5S across the site.
  • Coach teams in effective problem solving (Define Analyze Countermeasure & Sustain).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree accredited college or university AND a Minimum of 3 years of lean manufacturing experience.
  • OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years of lean manufacturing experience.

Desired Experience and Characteristics

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing Lean Transformation Operational Excellence.
  • Experience with Value Stream Mapping Daily Management Kaizen Events Standard Work.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working in manufacturing specifically in a shop floor environment.
  • Experience training others in principles of Lean methodology.
