Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for a talented and experienced technical lead to join our AI Center of Excellence and lead the development deployment and scaling of AI and machine learning models. This role will involve a combination of applied AI data science and software engineering and will focus on building tools frameworks and operational workflows for the AI-related products our team is delivering.

You will play a key role in establishing our ML Ops/AI Ops architecture and driving adoption of best practices in deployment and monitoring of solutions. Building strong connections with the various stakeholders we support throughout the organization and bringing a high degree of ownership and initiative-taking will be the key to success in this role.

Essential Functions

  • Design test and build robust AI/ML Ops frameworks to enable deployment versioning monitoring and reproducibility of models in production.
  • Develop shared tooling and pipelines to increase the speed and the quality of model development across our applied AI/ML team.
  • Guide and lead the technical architecture for AI/ML systems collaborating with data scientists data engineers and platform teams across the organization.
  • Directly contribute to high-impact high-priority AI solutions where more advanced software development expertise is needed.
  • Research and evaluate the latest trends and best practices in LLMs and other emerging AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to define the requirements and specifications for LLMs and other generative AI solutions.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other AI developers data scientists and engineers in the AI Center of Excellence especially as it pertains to best practices in CI/CD GitOps cloud-native ML workflows and software engineering.

Qualifications

Required

  • Masters Degree or equivalent in Data Science Computer Science Statistics Mathematics or related field. Similar certified online education or professional experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. A bachelors degree with extensive experience and exceptional expertise may be considered.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in health care data science statistics or a related field. Proven experience in managing and leading data science teams overseeing projects and driving strategic initiatives. Equivalent demonstrated proficiency may also be considered.
  • Deep familiarity with CI/CD pipelines version control and infrastructure as code practices.
  • Experienced with ML Ops principles and tooling.
  • Experienced in multiple cloud platforms such as AWS Azure Snowflake or Google Cloud.
  • Strong experience in developing and deploying software data science or analytics solutions.
  • Strong systems thinking and an ability to balance architecture implementation and enablement.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous problems into structured scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication collaboration and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated success coaching or mentoring others.
  • Passionate about AI and innovation and eager to learn and grow.

Preferred

  • Doctorate in a quantitative discipline mathematics computer science statistics physics econometrics or a related discipline.
