Veterinary Assistant - Mauer Animal Clinic

Mauer Animal Clinicis a long-standing general practice with deep ties to the community located in beautiful Las Vegas Nevada. Our goal is to provide compassionate and quality medicine while striving to make an impact in our community and treat our patients/clients like family.
Here at Mauer Animal Clinic we are focused on the ultimate client and patient experience. With more than 30 years of experience we have made it our mission to provide the gold standard of care to every patient who walks through our door and to make every client feel at home! We are a general practice facility that sees both canine and feline patients for wellness and sick care including surgery radiographs ultrasound lab tests and more!
Our ideal candidate will have open availability excellent time management skills as well as being able to work in a team. Duties will include assisting in rooms with doctors drawing blood and running labs filling meds and administering medications feeding/watering/cleaning patients etc.
Experience preferred but not required. Must be able to work weekends.

Requirements
- 1 years of Clinical Veterinary Experience
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Passion for working with pets and their owners
- Understands the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills
- Skills with: Blood draws Placing IV catheters Digital radiology including positioning Dentistry Anesthesia & Laboratory skills such as ear and fecal cytology; HM5; Vetscan; and Sedivue are Highly Preferred!
Qualifications
Experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Strong animal handling skills and knowledge of clinical procedures.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT RVT or LVT) preferred or eligibility to obtain licensure based on state requirements.
A degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program is preferred but not .
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians with exams treatments and surgical procedures.
Safely handle and restrain animals; administer medications and vaccines.
Collect lab samples and maintain accurate patient records.
Educate clients on pet care and ensure a clean organized work environment.
