Job Description
Sun Mechanical Contracting Inc. is hiring an Accountant with both AR and AP experience to support the companys Accounting department.
Reports to: Assistant Controller and Controller
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Setting up contract amounts and entering any change orders
- Customer invoicing
- Payment tracking
- Enter deposits in accounting system
- Create paid job lists for accounts payable
- File contracts and change orders
- Assist accounting team with various duties
- Code and manage invoices for payment into the accounting software programs
- Electronically route invoices to appropriate department heads for approval
- Review of invoices for sales and use tax
- Maintain vendor relationships research and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies
- Ensure all invoices are appropriately coded to the correct GL account/job number
- Opportunities for cross training and advancement
- Additional duties as assigned based on the needs of the company
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS
- Accounting degree preferred 2 years of accounting experience or currently enrolled in an accounting degree program is a plus
- Construction industry experience is a plus
- Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in computers including software for MS Office (Excel Word Outlook)
