JOB SUMMARY:
Lead a team to maintain service rebuild troubleshoot repair and operate all cooking related equipment and refrigeration as it pertains to the continuous smooth operation of Universal Orlando. Including but not limited to industrial kitchen and bakery equipment propane and natural gas and electrical equipment. Perform preventative maintenance and rehab all kitchen equipment back to manufacturers specifications. Supports management in directing and coordinating activities of department and employees by performing the following duties:
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and delegates work tasks. Delegates work assignments and communicates performance expectations among qualified crewmembers. Communicates performance expectations to ensure proper completion of tasks. Communicates and coordinates with other departments or crafts as needed. Communicates resource needs work plans and Team Member concerns to Supervision.
- Provides two-way communications between work team supervisor and other management. Leads work startup and stoppage and schedules breaks.
- Diagnose and repair all refrigeration equipment including but not limited to coolers freezers ice machines glycol systems ice cream machines and keg coolers.
- Diagnose and repair all commercial gas and electric kitchen and Industrial kitchen and bakery equipment including but not limited to fryers steamers and ovens steam kettles tilt skillets proofers sheeters bowl mixers commercial dish machines combi-ovens stoves and conveyor type ovens broilers and espresso machines.
- Provide mechanical and technical guidance and expertise to Tech II and Tech III technicians to continually improve the education experience and skill set within the department.
- Understands and actively participates in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy procedures training and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
- High school degree or GED is required
- Technical school is preferred
- Associate degree (AA) is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
- 6 years equivalent experience with Commercial/Industrial Bakery Production Kitchen Laundry and refrigeration-associated equipment is required
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES REGISTRATIONS:
- A valid Florida Drivers License is required to operate company vehicles.
- (EPA) Universal Refrigerant Certificate is required.
- In addition a national standard of commercial or industrial repair certification is required.
