CNC Programmer - Custom Fab

Pay Range:$25.60 - $37.00 per hour

Summary/Objective
The CNC Programmer is a skilled and detail-oriented individual with experience in custom fabrication. This individual will be responsible for creating and optimizing CNC programs for a variety of custom parts and components ensuring high-quality output while maintaining efficiency and safety. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machinery G-code programming and CAD/CAM software in a custom fabrication environment.
Essential Functions
- Develop edit and optimize CNC programs for custom parts using CAD/CAM software (e.g. Mastercam Fusion 360 SolidWorks CAM).
- Interpret technical drawings blueprints and 3D models to ensure accuracy in part design and machining.
- Collaborate with engineers designers and shop personnel to understand part requirements and manufacturing feasibility.
- Set up and test CNC programs on machines including mills lathes lasers and plasma cutters.
- Troubleshoot and refine CNC programs to improve cycle times tool life and part quality.
- Select appropriate tools fixtures and machining strategies for various materials including aluminum steel stainless and composites.
- Maintain accurate documentation for CNC programs and setup sheets.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Educations and Experience
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer in a custom fabrication or job shop environment.
- Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g. Inventor Mastercam Fusion 360 SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of machining processes tool selection and G/M code.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Familiarity with various CNC machines including 3-axis 4-axis and 5-axis mills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate degree or technical certification in CNC programming machining or a related field.
- Experience with prototype or low-volume production work.
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing or hybrid processes is a plus.

Work Environment
Work is generally performed in an office environment with controlled heating and air with standard office equipment available. The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas which may require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection.
