POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE

PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN II

WORK LOCATION

NORMAL WORK HOURS

5:30am to 4pm or

4:30pm to 3am

POSITION SUMMARY

A Production Technician II typically has more experience and responsibilities compared to a standard Production Technician. They may be involved in advanced troubleshooting equipment setup and training junior technicians. This role often requires deeper understanding of the production processes and may involve collaboration with supervisors to optimize manufacturing procedures. This position may consist of Pressroom Components Program/Work Cells or Hand Welding.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSBILITIES PRESSROOM COMPONENT

  • Operate hydraulic punch presses.
  • Complete parts to Work Order specifications.
  • Complete required documentation written/data entry.
  • Check parts for quality by use of provided equipment (dial calipers micrometers optical comparators check gauges etc.)
  • Accepts additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSBILITIES PROGRAM/WORK CELLS

  • Receive and verify appropriate bands/components for job/step according to Work Order
  • Ensure correct weigh counts component parts for order accuracy where appropriate.
  • Complete necessary production steps as called out by the Work Order
  1. Rolling: roll bands to diameter as called out by Work Order.
  2. Bending: bend band loops into bands/straps for future assembly of component parts.
  3. Assembly: assemble component parts into band loops and/or operate air nutting device.
  4. Robotic Spot-Welding: operation of servo driven controls fixture loading completion of weld/tensile testing and documentation.
  5. Peening and Inspection: assure proper markings are etched into bands and all customer-driven inspection requirements are met See Inspection Job Description for further information.
  6. Spray Booth Operation See Spray Booth Job Analysis for further information.
  7. Packaging: ensure proper counts into break-down returnable totes and/or boxes for shipment.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Quality checks and documentation
  • Accepts additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSBILITIES HAND WELDING

  • Attendance - Adherence to scheduled shifts/hours of assigned work.
  • Operate Spot-welding machinery for both band clamps and v-band couplings.
  • Complete parts to Work Order specifications.
  • Compete required documentation written/data entry.
  • Complete interval-based weld/quality testing by use provided equipment (vices wrenches micrometers dial calipers Instron tensile tester etc.)
  • Clean and change welding tips.
  • Accepts additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by supervisor including but not limited to reassignment to any/all light/heavy material welders robotic cell spot-welders etc.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITY

  • None

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Repetitive gripping or parts/fixtures and bending of wrists.
  • Lifting/Dragging of parts/bins ranging from 30-75 (or more) lbs.
  • Completion of work in seated or standing position.
  • Written oral and/or data entry communications.
  • Problem solving and critical thinking.
  • Repetitive foot motion (pedals on machines)
  • Light filing/pulling/gripping of parts when performing weld/tensile tests.
  • Visual and/or technologically aided inspection concentration over long periods of time
  • Occasional use of hand tools during job switch outs tip cleaning and quality testing

MENTAL DEMANDS

  • Comprehension and demonstration of written/oral/verbally assigned tasks.
  • Ability to visualize completion of assigned tasks.
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills (i.e. parts counting/weighing)
  • Ability to anticipate problems.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic Reading/Writing Comprehension
  • Basic Understanding and Use of Computers
  • Beginning to Intermediate level experience with machinery and/or manufacturing
  • Individuals must meet established Company Quality/Production Standards

TRAINING

  • ITFs Computer Training Applicable Quality Systems Processes and Work Instructions.
  • Understanding and signing off on established Company training and guidelines (Safety Company Policies Handbook Policies etc.)
  • Future Department-Specific training
  • Inter-departmental Cross-Training as provided or necessary

PREVENTION AND SAFETY

  • Stay alert.
  • Safety eye shields must always be worn.
  • Hearing protection and gloves available if desired
  • Proper dress and shoes
  • Breaks to stretch/rest occasionally.
  • Follow all company safety procedures.
  • Constant application of proper/safe lifting techniques

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • Temp Status 30/60/90 Day Evaluation
  • Full- Time 90 Day / 180 Day Evaluation
  • Yearly Review / Score Card
  • Individuals are evaluated on a series of standards ranging from but not limited to individual skill level efficiency and quality of work attendance and working relationships within the Company etc.
  • Observation of above-mentioned standards of production personnel by management/supervisors is continuous during and beyond the above-mentioned intervals.
