Day Shift - 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Standards of Practice

    • Uses the nursing process to deliver high quality care appropriate to the age and educational level of the patient.
    • Collects and synthesizes comprehensive health data that are pertinent to the healthcare consumers health and/or situation.
    • Develops a plan to attain expected outcomes.
    • Analyzes the assessment data to determine diagnoses problems and areas of focus for care and treatment including level of risk.
    • Implements a specified plan: Coordinates care delivery employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment; uses knowledge of pharmacological biological and complimentary interventions to restore health and prevent further disability; provides structure and maintains a safe therapeutic recovery oriented environment; uses the therapeutic relationship and counseling interventions to assist health care consumers.
    • Evaluates progress towards attainment of expected outcomes.

    Standards of Professional Performance

    • Integrates ethical provisions in all areas of practice.
    • Attains knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice.
    • Integrates evidence and research findings into practice.
    • Communicates effectively in a variety of formats in all areas of practice.
    • Demonstrates leadership in the professional practice setting.
    • Collaborates with the health care consumer family interprofessional health team and others.
    • Evaluates all nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines relevant statutes rules and regulations.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program.

Experience:

  • Prefer one (1) year of hospital clinical experience or demonstrated clinical efficiency.

License(s)/Certification(s):

  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Illinois. Must apply within 90 days for licensure in Iowa.

  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BSL) certification as outlined per policy.

  • Must possess and maintain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training or obtain within six (6) months from date of hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the nursing care required for patients throughout the age continuum.

  • Ability to use the nursing process.

  • Knowledge of teaching/learning theories.

  • Ability to critically think problem solve; plan organize and coordinate patient care activities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.

  • Writes reads comprehends and speaks fluent English.

  • Basic computer knowledge using word processing spreadsheet email and web browser.
