Engineering Drafting Technician
J.H. Fletcher & Co. a worldwide leader in the manufacture of heavy mobile machinery has a job opening for an Engineering Drafting Technician at our Huntington WV facility. This position is responsible for developing detailed CAD drawings of Fletcher machinery and components collaborating with other departments and supporting engineering documentation to ensure manufacturing efficiency and accuracy.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Drafting certification from an accredited school or equivalent on-the-job experience
23 years of experience in engineering drafting or a related field
Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Edge preferred)
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and hydraulic/electrical circuits
Basic math skills including fractions angles and volume
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
High attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a team
Preferred:
Experience with AS/400 systems
Knowledge of GD&T concepts
Understanding of Bills of Material and manufacturing documentation processes
Experience in the manufacturing or heavy equipment industry
Key Responsibilities:
Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for equipment and parts using CAD software
Revise and improve designs to reduce production errors or correct deficiencies
Evaluate completeness and accuracy of mechanical hydraulic and electrical schematics
Coordinate with purchasing engineering and production departments for accurate component sourcing and design changes
Perform field documentation of machine and design changes in a shop environment
Occasional travel to industrial or underground mine sites may be required
Other duties as assigned
Position Details:
Location: 402 High Street Huntington WV 25705
Shift: Full-time 6:00 AM 2:30 PM (with potential for overtime)
Exempt Status: Exempt
