Purpose:

Join our committed team as a Middle School CTE/Stakeholder Liaison. This essential role focuses on connecting Maines middle school students with impactful Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways and cultivating robust partnerships with external stakeholders to enrich students learning experiences and career readiness.

This is professional services work in planning developing coordinating administering and evaluating Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs for which CTE schools and school administrative units are provided customer service direct and brokered technical assistance and feedback on the Maine Department of Educations (Maine DOE) innovative practices and resources. As well as assisting CTE schools and school administrative units across the state this position provides support and guidance related to Middle School-CTE (MS-CTE) as well as business and industry partners and other related CTE stakeholders.

Responsibilities include working with local state and federal officials in developing implementing assessing and coordinating statewide CTE programs including implementation of evaluative techniques in the context of Programs of Studies Live or Outside Work Agreements Cooperative board documentation comprehensive CTE school reviews and Perkins grant reviews to ascertain the effectiveness of programs and program expenditures as well as counseling CTE schools on the connections of their programs to overall Maine DOE initiatives The position specializes in MS-CTE standards and connecting CTE to the greater workforce development community. The position will also participate in the development of Maine DOE rules and regulations as needed by CTE legislation.

Work is performed under limited supervision and supervision is exercised during the fulfillment of specific educational projects.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of educational standards and assessments particularly in relation to Middle School Career and Technical Education.
  • Knowledge of Career and Technical Education Programs of Study.
  • Knowledge of community involvement issues and solutions.
  • Knowledge of computer software and hardware systems as necessary for completion of responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of current learning research and exemplary educational practices particularly related to MS-CTE.
  • Knowledge of education administration and teaching methods and materials particularly in relation to MS-CTE.
  • Knowledge of Total Quality Management concepts practices and tools and productivity measures particularly related to middle school CTE programs and business and industry partnerships.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based solutions in relation to CTE.
  • Knowledge of rules regulations and guidelines applicable to and enforced by the Department.
  • Ability to apply and facilitate group dynamics and to use exemplary interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assist schools with systemic change strategies/organizational development.
  • Ability to collaborate with staff and colleagues.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing in a team environment incorporating input from others and engaging in creative problem solving preparing clear and comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to formulate draft and administer rules and regulations.
  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and customers.
  • Ability to interpret and explain State and Federal statutory and regulatory provisions.
  • Ability to manage projects.
  • Ability to plan organize and evaluate educational programs.
  • Ability to use latest technology for the purposes of information and data gathering processing and communicating.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • ABachelorsDegree in Education or required specialty/substance area and four (4) years professional level experience in required specialty/subject area. AMastersDegree in Education or required specialty/subject area may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in Career and Technical Education and working with middle school students.
