Location: Kildare W23 X3PH
- Candidates must be willing to work from this location.
- Blended offsite/onsite working arrangement.
Contract / Permanent: 12 months with further extensions

Attendance Pattern:
Working within the island of Ireland is mandatory.
Minimum attendance of two days per week at the office.
Full-time Monday to Friday 8 hours per day (excluding breaks) between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Excludes public holidays observed in the Republic of Ireland.
Mandatory Requirements (Pass/Fail):
Experience Level: The candidate must have more than 7 years of relevant Technical Architect experience at a senior level.
Availability: The candidate must be available to commence work from 3rd November 2025.
English Language Proficiency: The candidate must be fluent in both spoken and written English.
Key Deliverable:
The following non-exhaustive list of Key Deliverables are applicable to this Role.
The Technical Architect role will include (but is not limited) to the following:
Liaise with the DAFM Enterprise Architecture Group (EAG) the business and relevant stakeholders including technical resources to define requirements.
Interpret use and apply information contained within ICT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities particularly those involved in the design development enhancement and maintenance of ICT support systems.
Ensure that the overall ICT architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and quality.
Acts as a subject matter expert focused on the design process.
Adheres to a given set of constraints specified at the outset of the design process.
Provide high-level and detailed estimates for projects.
Manage risks appropriate to the contract team in the delivery of agreed deliverables.
Identify improvements to system architecture and processes.
Manage delivery of application functionality by all the resources and ensure that the outputs adhere to the quality and governance standards specified for the project.
Provide progress reports as required to the DAFM Project Manager and other DAFM stakeholders including (but not limited to):
Project Architecture documents
Development Progress
QA Results
Risks Arising
Performance Issues
Potential for improvements
Key Experience/Competencies/Skillsets:
The following Experience/Competencies/Skillsets are applicable to this Role.
Demonstrated expertise in the interpretation use and application of information contained within ICT architecture to inform a range of business improvement activities particularly those involved in the design development enhancement and maintenance of ICT support systems.
Demonstrated expertise in the provision of leadership and direction of a software development team or teams towards a common technical vision in the delivery of the services to the client.
Demonstrated ability to ensure that the overall ICT architecture is maintained in a coherent manner and that appropriate considerations are made for its security and quality.
Expertise in the management and delivery of multiple system modules or projects simultaneously.
Experience in the design and development of new systems on Red Hat OpenShift.
Experience in modernization of existing applications onto the Red Hat OpenShift platform.
Education
