As a Smallworld Engineer you will:
- Be responsible for the configuration installation and support of Smallworld GIS suite including PNI Electric Office Gas Office and associated modules.
- Implement and maintain customer-specific customizations using Magik and Java.
- Monitor troubleshoot and resolve system issues by interpreting logs and debugging Smallworld applications and interfaces.
- Handle system upgrades patch installations and deploy fixes on live customer systems with minimal downtime.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with VMDS Oracle SQL and other relevant platforms.
What You Bring to the Table:
- 5 years of experience working with the Smallworld product suite including PNI Core (SW4/SW5) EO GDO GTO GSS GSA DM MES NRM and K8.
- Strong programming experience in Magik and Java.
- Proficiency with SQL VMDS and Oracle databases.
- Hands-on expertise in installing and configuring Smallworld applications operating system patches and third-party tools (e.g. ONA Data Center Management).
- Familiarity with customer-specific customizations and experience working with live production environments.
- Experience with shell scripting and log analysis for troubleshooting and debugging.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles.
You should possess the ability to:
- Analyze and resolve technical issues effectively under pressure.
- Install configure and optimize Smallworld modules and related applications.
- Debug complex systems using log files and diagnostic tools.
- Communicate fluently in German with clear documentation and stakeholder communication in both German and English.
