Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Traffic Engineer with a focus on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and traffic signal design to join our growing transportation engineering team. This role involves planning designing and implementing traffic signal systems and ITS infrastructure to improve mobility safety and efficiency across urban and suburban networks. Hybrid work option located in Atlanta GA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review traffic signal design plans including signal timing phasing and interconnects.
- Design and implement ITS solutions such as CCTV DMS vehicle detection and communication systems.
- Prepare construction documents specifications and cost estimates.
- Conduct traffic operational analyses using software such as Synchro VISSIM or HCS.
- Coordinate with DOTs municipalities and utility companies.
- Support project management tasks including scheduling budgeting and client communication.
- Perform field reviews and inspections to ensure design compliance and quality control.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 6 years of experience in traffic engineering with a focus on signal design and ITS or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirements:
- EIT certification or PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MicroStation and traffic analysis tools (e.g. Synchro SIDRA).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
