Vital Research is seeking a Data Coordinator I responsible for organizing storing and managing data with a strong focus on security accuracy and confidentiality. This role supports the end-to-end data lifecycle including the handling of complex datasets survey programming tracking electronic data collection and data quality assurance. The Data Coordinator I collaborates closely with the Data Manager Database Developer and Senior Data Scientist to ensure the integrity and usability of data systems. They also contribute to cross-functional projects and engage with research teams across departments.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Data Manager and Database Developer to support the development and maintenance of data tracking systems.
- Manage and process data files from multiple platforms such as Salesforce Excel Access or similar tools.
- Conduct basic quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis using Excel SPSS Access or similar platforms.
- Create and maintain codebooks for data entry and analysis.
- Perform audits and corrections to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Conduct geographic data analysis using mapping tools.
- Program and manage complex online surveys including testing survey logic and flow.
- Perform quality assurance testing on databases and new technologies.
- Document data components for project deliverables such as reports protocols and training materials.
- Support team members with data-related tasks and ensure consistent adherence to internal standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Data Science Information Systems Statistics Public Health Social Sciences or a related field required.
- 13 years of experience in data coordination or management with familiarity in large datasets survey tools and platforms like Excel Access SPSS Qualtrics or REDCap.
- Prior experience in research evaluation or non-profit settings is a plus.
- Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables formulas data cleaning); knowledge of database tools and data visualization platforms (e.g. ClicData Tableau Power BI) is desirable.
- Understanding of survey design logic testing and data quality assurance best practices.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to data quality.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across teams.
