This position leads a para-military Protective Force Training and Operations program in excess of 550 personnel. The Protective Force organization is made up of exempt and nonexempt employees to include members of the International Guard Union of America (IGUA). This position is required to effectively manage the entire Protective Force program with a budget of over $135M. This position requires the demonstrated ability to develop implement and lead a wide range of protective force activities to include but not limited to: routine and emergency operations training; protective force logistics DOE order compliance (ability to interpret and implement DOE requirements) resource management and documented level of success in directing the Department/Program or missions at varied levels of responsibility.
The employees primary duty is management of all assigned security programs and subdivision thereof and incudes duties such: interviewing; selecting and training employees; setting and adjusting pay and work hours maintaining records; appraising employee productivity and grievances; and planning and apportioning work among employees. The employee is accountable for all output of subordinates work. Additionally the employee must maintain strategic relationships and timely communication with counterparts from NNSA YFO and other NNSA/DOE sites.
The employee may participate in the hiring and firing process by making suggestions and recommendations.
OR Twenty or more years of relevant education training and/or progressive experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years of experience requirements for this posting; must include at a minimum 5years of management experience
