Job Purpose
The main purpose of this job role is to ensure that effective and proper financial procedures and systems are established with good corporate governance and internal controls are enforced in accordance with Group policies and guidelines to support business objectives.
Accountabilities
Execute
- Serve as an interface between branch offices & operational departments to ensure smooth and timely accomplishment of set tasks.
- Ensure compliance in preparing and submitting P&L Balance Sheet and annual returns for Revenue Department VAT Registrar of Companies and Transfer Pricing.
- Review and maintenance of ageing for Open Jobs
- Ensure timely Job closing activity and reporting of accurate Revenue and Gross Profit
- Timely preparation and submission of month end MIS reports to Regional CFO SAPAC.
- Ensure monthly / quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Look after complete treasury function.
- Work with the Line Manager to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit.
- Review and maintenance of general ledgers and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Timely booking of invoices and payments to Shipping Lines / Vendors.
- Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
Qualifications/ skills/ experience / knowledge
- Bachelor degree (123 or equivalent) in finance or accountancy
- Preferably Post Graduate or professional qualification in finance or accountancy
- Demonstrated experience working within a multi-national organisation in financial accounting and internal controls
- Demonstrated knowledge about the finalisation of accounts Trial Balance Profit and Loss Account and Balance Sheet
- Experience working in shipping/ freight forwarding is advantageous
- Proficient computer skills including experience working in accounting ERP system
- English language skills
