Head of AI Accelerator - Executive Director - Commercial & Investment Bank

J.P. Morgan is seeking a strategic and talented candidate to lead the AI Accelerator within the Chief Analytics Office (CAO) in the Commercial & Investment Bank (CIB).

The CIB CAO is responsible for accelerating the Analytics agenda globally across Markets Trading Sales & Research Payments Securities Services and Global Bankingdriving the integration of advanced analytics and AI into business strategies to deliver measurable commercial impact.
The responsibilities of the Chief Analytics Office include advancing both traditional AI/ML and generative AI capabilities identifying priorities and focusing on high-impact AI use cases setting the GenAI strategy around LLMs and Agentic AI and reusing and scaling AI solutions across lines of business. In addition the organization is responsible for fostering a culture of innovation and an AI-first mindset among employees in the CIB.

A key part of the CIB CAO is the newly-created AI Accelerator which will be tasked with accelerating the most impactful and high-priority AI programs across the CIB which require frontier AI transformation. To do so the team embeds into the business for the duration of each special program and works in close partnership with subject matter experts as well as the Analytics and Technology teams in the business. This ensures the solutions are delivered end-to-end while ensuring responsible use of AI in compliance with internal policies laws and regulations with regular progress updates being shared with senior leadership / C-Suite management.

As part of its mandate the AI Accelerator team will devote time to remain up-to-date with cutting-edge research in AI.

The Head of AI Accelerator will report directly to the CIB Chief Analytics Officer.

Job responsibilities

• Direct the AI Accelerator team in high-priority AI initiatives hiring and managing a diverse and talented team balancingtechnical excellence with tangible commercial impact.
• Foster a culture of innovation and an AI-first mindset promoting collaboration and excellence
• Present to Senior Leadership on biggest AI opportunities and progress of the special AI programs
• Conduct thorough analysis of quantitative and qualitative data available to produce clear actionable insights and recommendations for the business
• Collaborate with in business Analytics and Technology teams for the end-to-end delivery of the AI solutions
• Oversee the development and scaling of AI solutions across the organization ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Assimilate information and communicate complex analyses and recommendations effectively to senior executive stakeholders across the organization
• Remain up-to-date with latest progress and breakthrough in the AI community
  

Required qualifications capabilities and skills

• Proven ability to lead and inspire high performing team with curiosity humility and willingness to learn about the CIB businesses working side-by-side with business experts
• Passion for problem solving and innovative (out of the box) thinking
• Ability to learn complex business problem statements and re-formulate in simple terms and to distill complex data into actionable insights
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Deep expertise in both traditional AI/ML and generative AI

Preferred qualifications capabilities and skills

• Experience or understanding of Financial Services
• Experience in a highly quantitative role ideally as a data scientist at a growth or research organization
• Deep expertise in statistical analysis experimental design and causal inference
• Proficiency in Python orchestration frameworks SQL and other analytical tools
