Division: Nucor Warehouse Systems
Location: Vernon CA United States
Other Available Locations: N/A
Compensation: $19.84 - $20.83 (plus weekly production bonus); potential average $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.
Basic Job Functions:
- Assists workers engaged in the formation of sheet metal products by performing any combination of the following tasks: Lifts positions and removes workpieces from machines to assist in fitting.
- Loads stacks and transports goods using the Crane.
- able to drive a forklift
- Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to punch the tube using the roll forming machine.
- Cuts material using saw cutting machine.
- Works with mill & roll form machines.
- Oversee and operate all the section of the mill line.
- Produce quality material that meets customer expectations.
- Schedule and perform regular size changes.
- Participate and perform regular maintenance on the line.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Train and ensure understanding of other positions in the mill line.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Able to work 1012-hour rotational shifts as needed overtime weekends and holidays.
- Minimum of one year of crane operating experience.
- Able to lift 50 lbs.
- Possess the ability to work with hand tools.
- Being able to read a tape measure.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working for a manufacturing company preferred.
- 1-2 years of mill operator/ roll forming experience preferred.
