Job purpose
The engineering service tech is responsible for but not limited to the following areas of troubleshooting and working on and maintaining horizontal and vertical form fill and seal equipment shrink wrap tunnels forklift minor repairs stretch wrapper print registered film wrappers and heavy electrical work on machines. Also including warehouse and building maintenance. This position will also include performing research building prototypes inspecting products providing customer support and reporting to the supervising manager. He/she must have a great attitude and positive outlook.
Pay: $32.00-$38.00/hr
Responsibilities and Essential Duties
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on packaging and mechanical handling equipment.
- Document records of maintenance inspections and repairs.
- Select repair parts and update parts records.
- Repair mechanical damage and replace defective parts which may include welding brazing and soldering. Repairs made to all packaging and mechanical handling equipment.
- Applies mechanical skills and knowledge to troubleshooting and repair of electrical plumbing pipe fitting fabrication.
- Reads and interprets schematics drawings and other diagnostic aids in the scope of troubleshooting repair and fabrication work.
- Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Perform mechanic skills including but not limited to mechanical electrical pneumatic hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Comply with OSHA Safety and Health regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area

Knowledge Skills and Experience Required
Candidate Requirements- Tangibles
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Understanding of high-voltage wiring (480V 3-phase / 220V 3/1 Phase / 110V 1 Phase)
- Basic computer skills including use of Microsoft Office.
- Experience with C.M.M.S. software (Preventive Maintenance/Work Order distribution systems)
- Understanding encoders and equipment timing.
- Knowledge of Servo drives and motors.
- Variable Frequency drive operation and configuration.
- Basic knowledge of logic software.
- Strong knowledge of how components interact with PLCs (photo eyes proximity sensors etc.).
- Multi-craft maintenance and repair (e.g. performing interrelated repairs on electrical systems and mechanical systems
- Willingness to work under pressure to fix equipment
- Work urgently to get the equipment back up and running
- Troubleshooting issues on a wide variety of equipment
- Will conduct repair failures of production and facilities equipment
- Ensure maximum equipment efficiency effectiveness and reliability
- Responding to maintenance / service calls is part of your job and this can sometimes mean helping complete a repair that has already been started
- You will inspect machines develop repair lists and identify short-term and long-term repairs so that machines run correctly

Educational Background:
Minimum of a High School Diploma 5 years equivalent experience.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
- College education is desirable
- Must be fluent in Englishwritten spoken and reading comprehension
- Fluent in Spanish both written and verbal is considered an asset
