Job Description


At Kalos Services our Commercial Refrigeration team is known for delivering high-quality installations for major retailers and commercial clients across Central Florida. Were now hiring a Start-Up Technician who can take our projects across the finish line by powering up testing and verifying complex refrigeration systems so theyre ready for smooth long-term operation.


This is a field-based role for a detail-oriented refrigeration pro who enjoys working independently solving problems and ensuring every detail is correct before handoff.


Compensation: $28 - $35 hourly based on experience


Schedule: Will fluctuate depending on projects and work load but will usually be between 40/50 plus hours per week. Some night work and on call will be required.


Responsibilities:


  • Power up and commission new commercial refrigeration systems (rack systems walk-ins reach-ins etc.)
  • Program setpoints and verify functionality for all major control systems (Emerson CPC Danfoss etc.)
  • Perform pressure and leak tests electrical checks and refrigerant charge adjustments
    Diagnose and correct any start-up issues with electrical piping or mechanical components
  • Ensure all systems meet manufacturer specs and job requirements before turnover
  • Document start-up conditions commissioning data and punch list items
  • Collaborate with installation crews controls technicians and project managers
  • Help ensure a smooth transition to service/maintenance teams
Requirements


  • 2 years of commercial refrigeration installation service or start-up experience
  • Strong knowledge of rack refrigeration condensers evaporators and controls
  • Ability to troubleshoot and tune superheat subcooling airflow and refrigerant charge
  • Comfortable reading blueprints schematics and wiring diagrams
  • EPA 608 Certification (Required)
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record
    Willingness to travel regionally to job sites (per diem provided when applicable)
