This position will have the ability to work remotely part of the time with some office time required.

The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the Accounting and Accounts Payable departments after completion of the initial training period
  • Responsible for the accurate reporting and management of the employee auto allowance program including the tracking of and payments to the various employees within the program and assisting in finding an updated SAAS solution
  • Responsible for working hand-in-hand with the Accounting Team Lead on ASC842 reporting
  • Management of the LeaseQuery leasing system including entry updating and review for numerous building and vehicle leases
    • Vehicles: This will include obtaining the details of the vehicle CPI increases imposed by our leasing vendors computing the changes and reviewing them against current billings before entering them into LeaseQuery
    • Buildings: This will include assisting the Controller with landlord reconciliation including common area maintenance real estate taxes insurance and other misc. components of the additional rents updating the LeaseQuery system as necessary
  • Heavy research components include researching and understanding of the many rules regulations and laws related to assigned tasks and department responsibilities. This includes but is not limited to ASC842 IRS accountable allowance programs/FAVR programs and more as assigned
  • Will be involved with fixed assets and related reporting capital expenditures and operating expense review and classification
  • Responsible for several accounting-related functions including but not limited to:
    • Various month-end tasks such as monthly general ledger account reconciliations journal entry creation and review and account analysis
    • Assist in the review of accounts payable invoices as it relates to budgetary concerns and proper coding
    • Assist with year-end related accounting tasks
  • Handle various miscellaneous tasks and projects as assigned by the Controller and work closely with the Controller on process improvements and efficiencies throughout the department; this position involves learning the responsibilities of the various sub-departments within Finance and providing valuable insight on best practices policies and procedures
  • Working closely within the Accounting department as a team to review various entries and other items and assist in cross-training the teams and obtaining a solid understanding of the department as a whole
  • Throughout all responsibilities the Assistant Controller will represent the department and work with a variety of other departments and levels within the organization
  • Future potential to take over the budgeting process from the CFO and Controller working closely on a monthly basis with the department heads to discuss their individual budgets budget concerns and details within the budget categories

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting required a degree in Finance would be acceptable with relevant experience
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience required
  • Strong Excel skills with the ability to compute formulas and create PivotTables preferred
  • Experience with researching accounting and/or IRS rules and regulations preferred
  • ASC 842 experience is preferred but is not required
  • Highly detail-oriented analytical organized and a solid team player is a must as you will be working with many other employees at all levels within our company
  • A high interest in analyzing general ledger accounts and investigating potential discrepancies
  • Enjoys researching rules and regulations and staying up-to-date with changes related to responsibilities
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize a variety of responsibilities
  • High degree of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality with the ability to work with a sense of urgency on critical tasks
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and tact
  • Hours are 7:30 a.m.4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday with some overtime expected during the month-end close and year-end processes
  • Once fully trained the employee will have the potential to work a few days a week remotely dependent upon performance (hybrid schedule)
  • Background and credit check will be required
