Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Proven history of successful fundraising experience development or community
outreach.
Understanding of prospect research and grant development.
Rich background in conceptualizing and designing projects programs and initiatives.
Exceptional written communication organizational and problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function effectively as part of a team.
Ability to independently initiate oversee and complete large complex projects.
Advanced word processing graphics and research skills.
Ability to draft clear concise narratives correspondence budgets and other documents.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with institutions of higher education schools and
agencies at the local state and national levels.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree required Masters degree preferred.
Five years of appropriate experience.
Physical Requirements Specific to the Job:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
Serves as lead advancement expert for the school and supervisor of all advancement
office functions.
Demonstrates leadership and support for all aspects of appropriate business practices
financial and accounting policies and internal controls.
Provides overall supervision of the advancement office including hiring training and
performance management of advancement office personnel.
Supervises the staff responsible for biographical records management gift records
management production prospect research stewardship and scholarship programs;
plans the workload and supervises the daily operations of the advancement office.
Set goals and plans programs for advancement; plans and administers the department
budget; establishes work standards; assists in hiring advancement office staff and
supervises and evaluates staff.
Ensures adherence to internal policies and procedures relating to receipt and deposit of
gifts and the creation and maintenance of accurate biographic records to minimize
fund-raising revenue losses.
Work with the Advancement Committee of the Board of Directors to prepare and present
advancement reports in a manner that meets the needs of the administration and
relevant governance bodies (e.g. Board of Directors Board of Trustees and Diocese of
Dallas).
Maintain advancement office software to maximize its utility as an accounting tool and as
a media tool. Respond to requests for advancement information as appropriate.
Determine annual fund giving goals and guide strategic and tactical plans for achieving
these goals.
Focus on effective communication and solicitation activities within specific market
segments identified as having potential for the greatest growth.
Oversight of data entry and information management for donors and prospects.
Coordinate design and maintain policies/procedures fundraiser prospect management
reporting and statistical analysis.
Oversee all annual fund giving advancement services and donor relations programs
including faculty/staff campaigns gift processing donor stewardship annual fund
auction and other fundraisers.
Formulate and execute a communications program supporting annual fund giving.
Coordinate annual fund giving with reunion campaigns and other specialty constituents
such as trustees board members and alumni in a sophisticated and effective fashion.
Manage a prospect pool with annual fund goals for personal visits and giving outcomes.
Create develop and execute a highly effective and sustainable volunteer component
within annual fund giving.
Oversees maintenance of local regional and national business and foundation contacts.
Assures the production of annual fund summary letters regarding stewardship programs.
Oversees major campus events in the area of invitations media set up food etc.
Oversees school communication to campus employees donors volunteers selected
friends other schools and parishes.
Communicate with the President effectively and frequently about advancement plans.
Other duties as assigned.
