Vital Research is seeking a Research Coordinator (Hybrid) that plays a key role in supporting research projects by ensuring effective coordination communication and organization across all phases of the research process. Reporting to the Research Manager this role provides reliable support across project planning field team management data collection efforts and reporting.
Key responsibilities include scheduling and coordinating research activities maintaining accurate project documentation liaising with stakeholders and ensuring compliance with research protocols and ethical guidelines. The ideal candidate is highly organized detail-oriented and adept at executing project plans to drive successful outcomes. They excel in a collaborative environment demonstrate adaptability to evolving project needs and consistently uphold the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Management
- Coordinate with research participants community partners and field teams to facilitate smooth study implementation.
- Coordinate and maintain project plans.
- Serve as a main contact for field staff survey respondents and stakeholders.
- Oversee survey administration for multiple programs and projects annually.
- Coordinate meetings document key discussions and track action items to ensure accurate records and timely distribution to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain online data platforms including data collection tracking software web surveys and dashboards.
- Track project progress troubleshoot issues and provide timely updates to project leads.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
Field Staff Supervision & Training
- Recruit onboard train and manage field staff ensuring adherence to project expectations and deadlines.
- Lead or co-lead virtual and in-person training sessions.
- Review and refine training materials and newsletters for clarity and consistency.
- Coordinate logistics for field staff training and vendor coordination including travel planning.
- Monitor and assess interviewer performance providing constructive feedback.
- Process field staff invoices and travel expense payments.
Survey Administration & Data Management
- Coordinate schedule and oversee data entry and collection tasks ensuring all project goals are met.
- Test mobile survey programs including all survey logic.
- Assist with data collection (e.g. administer interviews quality assurance calls).
- Review final deliverables for accuracy completeness and compliance with established standards.
- Document current processes and procedures and identify more efficient and effective ways of doing work.
Requirements
- Must reside in the greater Los Angeles area and be open to in-person office work as needed.
- Bachelors degree in a related social science field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum three years of coordination experience with at least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong organizational analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while adapting to shifting priorities with flexibility and efficiency.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel Word) and project management software.
- Experience with data management survey administration and research methodologies.
- Occasional travel (up to 30%) may be required based on project needs. Candidates should be able to travel while maintaining productivity.
