About IPSD

Caterpillars Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that not only power Caterpillar machines but also power over 5000 other applications including Marine Petroleum Industrial Applications Electric Generators and Locomotives. Caterpillars company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future.

Job Summary:

Caterpillar is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Logistics Specialist. The purpose of this position is a support position for the logistics team responsible for shipping receiving and inventory accuracy. This position reports directly to the logistics section manager and indirectly to the Material Requirements Planning manager.

What you will do:

  • Conduct detailed reconciliation and analysis of inventory transactions using both PLEX and MAMM systems.

  • Perform and reconcile IRA and IDA inventory counts to ensure accuracy.

  • Execute regular cycle counts to maintain up-to-date inventory records.

  • Support various inventory management initiatives and ensure inventory accuracy through related actions.

  • Collaborate closely with the IRA team to address inventory discrepancies and optimize processes.

  • Handle all Material Transfer System (MTS) functions efficiently.

  • Serve as a backup for Maintenance Repair and Operations (MRO) tasks when needed

What you will have:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in supply chain or inventory management

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel Word and Outlook

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and processes

  • Solid understanding of inventory control and accuracy practices

  • Experience in conducting precise and accurate inventory counts

  • Skilled in operating material handling equipment like a Fork Truck

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously

What would make you a top candidate:

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel including the use of formulas and data analysis tools.

  • Experience working with ERP systems such as PLEX or MAMM.

  • Certification or formal training in supply chain management or inventory control.

  • Experience with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing processes.

  • Forklift certification or other material handling equipment licenses.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot inventory discrepancies.

  • Knowledge of industry safety regulations and best practices for warehouse operations.

Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation):

  • Ability to perform repetitive operations

  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Summary Pay Range:

$19.55 - $24.70
