MSW Assistant Professor of Social Work (Full-time 8 Month Position Tenure Track):
DUTIES:
The selected candidate will serve as an instructor in the MSW program teaching courses across the curriculum at the micro mezzo and macro level. The teaching load is 12 credits each fall and spring semester in a combination of face-to-face and blended/online formats carried out in day and evening schedules. Summer teaching may be expected. The candidate will participate in activities serving the department such as student advising and contributing to departmental decisions and program development. The candidate will also be expected to engage in scholarship endeavors and participate in activities serving the university and community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates must have a masters degree in social work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in social work or related field by August 1 2025.
Candidates must have at least two years post-masters social work degree practice experience.
Candidates must be able to teach courses across the social work curriculum at both the MSW and BSW level although principal assignment will be to the masters program.
Candidates must demonstrate ongoing professional development as teachers scholars and practitioners through activities that support the programs missions and goals. Candidates must also demonstrate a commitment to advising and student engagement to support academic success.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity equity and inclusion. The candidate must have proven ability to work with colleagues and students from diverse backgrounds and identities in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Applicants letter of interest must include a statement regarding specific efforts to cultivate a more diverse and inclusive educational environment including specific strategies for embedding diversity equity and inclusion into curriculum.
DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference will be given to candidates who can teach in-person on campus. Will also consider candidates for remote instructor position (non-tenure track) to teach synchronously with possibility of conversion to tenure-track faculty position in the following year.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching at the graduate level and familiarity with face-to-face and blended/online platforms.
Special consideration given to qualified candidates who reflect minoritized populations.
Priority given to candidates with interest in teaching courses associated with clinical practice. Interest in teaching courses associated with research methods a plus.
