The Position

As the Senior Manager Talent & Culture you will be a key strategic partner to the business units championing a people at the centre approach while delivering thoughtful workforce solutions. Youll play a pivotal role in shaping a high-performing inclusive and engaging workplace through proactive HR strategies.

What success looks like

Business unit partnership:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees on workplace issues conflict resolution leaves of absence and performance management strategies
  • Facilitate workforce planning conversations in alignment with the Business Planning Process (BPP) ensuring efficient talent planning and organizational design
  • Lead the job evaluation process to ensure internal equity and alignment with compensation structures
  • Guide leaders and employees through the Performance Learning Framework (PLF) process
  • Manage internal movements including promotions transfers and restructures and partner with the payroll team to ensure timely and accurate processing of employment changes
  • Conduct and analyze exit interviews to uncover trends mitigate risks and inform employee retention strategies
  • Collaborate closely with the Talent Acquisition team for effective onboarding and orientation and advise on internal recruitment processes
  • Partner with the Total Rewards team to ensure alignment on compensation and benefits strategies
  • Collaborate with the Learning & Development team to assess training and development needs and implement relevant programs
  • Use HR systems to provide reporting and analytics which inform strategic decision-making

HR program management:

  • Deliver and evolve employee recognition programs that celebrate service impact and values-based contributions
  • Oversee Health & Safety programs in partnership with facilities ensuring workplace wellbeing and risk mitigation
  • Develop implement and maintain HR policies and procedures that align with organizational values strategic objectives and embed principles of diversity equity and inclusion
  • Lead and contribute to HR projects that drive efficiency innovation and cultural impact

As our ideal candidate you will have:

  • A university degree or equivalent in Human Resources or related field. A CHRP or CHRL designation will be considered an asset
  • A proven track record as a valued Human Resources Business Partner with experience as a Senior HR generalist or manager in a mid-sized organization
  • Business acumen and the ability to influence others by fostering strong business relationships
  • A flexible and adaptable work style; open to collaboration with a diversity of perspectives in an agile work environment.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and experience working with HR systems
  • Experience with SAP reporting and data analysis
  • Good knowledge of employment and health and safety legislation including ESA OHSA etc.
  • A passion for mission driven work and personal values aligned with those of Plan International Canadas corporate values

The salary range for this position is anticipated to be between $73000 and $91000. We comprehensively evaluate a variety of factors to determine fair compensation including experience specific job-related skills and relevant educational or professional training. Additionally we ensure that compensation is equitable across our team and aligns with current market trends. This role also qualifies for an extensive benefits package and generous paid time off.
