This course aims to enable graduate (LLM) students to acquire competencies and skills relevant to their level of research activity by exploring and applying one or more general overarching themes (i.e. equality security rights access to justice public interest lawyering etc.) or case studies of contemporary legal issues and using materials that emphasize and encourage interdisciplinarity. The Common Law Section is seeking candidates who have the expertise skills vision and energy to reinforce uOttawas position as a leader in graduate education in law. An LL.B. J.D. or equivalent is required for this position. A PhD in law is preferred but not essential. Membership in the Law Society of Ontario or equivalent in good standing is preferred. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in legal research and writing at the graduate level as well as knowledge mobilization and interdisciplinary research. The successful candidate must also have prior teaching experience in those areas and teaching experience at the graduate level.
The Common Law Section reserves the right to select a candidate who does not fully meet each of these requirements where the candidates selection would be beneficial to the program the course the students or for a related reason.

The candidate may be required to teach this course either online in-person or hybrid mode at the discretion of the Faculty and in accordance with public health guidelines.An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
