The Sarnia manufacturing facility is the headquarters for ARLANXEO Canada Inc. with a Global Research & Development Centre for Butyl Rubber found in London Ontario. Focused on the production of synthetic rubber the Sarnia facility is a major supplier to both domestic and international markets and employs over 300 employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to forecast schedule monitor order direct and control the supply of all raw materials and packaging materials for the Butyl production plant.
  • Interacts with Production Warehouse Integrated Business Planning and Procurement to ensure the raw materials are available to efficiently meet production schedules.
  • Manages the raw materials month end process including inventory reconciliation physical inventory balancing interacting with accounting & controlling. Raw Materials
  • Forecast schedule order and monitor all raw materials for the butyl unit including packaging materials
  • Monitor and replenish raw material and packaging materials for production needs.
  • Ensure accurate timely purchase order creation according to the Production plan & detailed production scheduling.
  • Verify supply availability of raw materials and packaging versus changing Operating plan & detailed production schedule and pro-actively identify issues.
  • Provide raw material forecasting (including usage) to Global Supply Manager as well as Procurement.
  • Maintain accurate raw material and packaging inventory data (in SAP) including MM transfer postings and consumption on process orders.
  • Daily or more frequent posting of goods receipt of butyl production on packed and unpacked process orders including monitoring and correction postings of raw material consumptions (COGI back flushing).
  • Arrange for raw material transfer from warehouse storage locations to Butyl Unit.
  • Coordinate with both internal and external warehousing operations staff.
  • Determine and control the inventory levels for raw materials and packaging maintaining the lowest possible inventory levels for cost effectiveness while ensuring production requirements are met.
  • Communicate and execute purchase orders (within guidelines) directly with suppliers
  • Maintain good working relations with suppliers in respect to on time and in full supply (short notice equipment availability issues service issues).
  • Calculate and communicate raw material forecasts to suppliers.
  • Create process orders monthly according to plan and update as needed base on production requirments.
  • Ensure raw material good receipts in SAP are completed accurately and timely to facilitate invoice payment.
  • Record on-time delivery for each material from each supplier interacting with the Procurement team in order to highlight issues relating supplier performance.
  • Arrange month-end closing including physical inventory count inventory reconciliation physical to SAP balancing and post inventory differences on process orders.
  • Daily updating tracking and expediting of scheduled deliveries and clearly communicate with production staff responsible for unloading operations and receiving production unit
  • Liaise with Shift supervisor on supply issues and priority setting of unloading as well as non-routine issues such as railcar safety wooden crate dimensions hoses/connections for tank truckslrailcars etc.
  • Execute SAP goods receipts by month for invoice matching
  • Reconcile receipts inventories & consumptions and reporting on daily and monthly basis
  • Process freight demurrage disposal related and other invoices for payment
  • Coordinate and communicate raw material railcar switches with internal and external contacts.
  • Maintain SAP master data for SAP Production Planning module including process orders new material creation & maintenance.

Education/Experience:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree with a focus in Business Logistics Marketing or Accounting.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant Supply Chain Management experience (Planning Logistics or Experience in Planning/Purchasing for a global organization).
  • Certification as Supply Chain professional.
  • APICS or PMAC certifications are an asset.
  • Accounting certification and/or experience an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience of planning & procurement processes.
  • Dangerous Goods Training Demonstrated superior communication skills to interact at customer level as well as with internal interfaces.
  • Demonstrated computer skills including SAP MS Office (Excel) Lotus Notes and industy specific databases.
