Job Title

Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)

Location

Pennsylvania (multiple facility locations)

Schedule
  • Typical workweek: Monday Friday 40 hours

  • Occasional weekend coverage required on a rotating or as needed basis

Pay Rate

Hourly wage based on years of licensure in Pennsylvania:

Experience Level Hours/Week Hourly Rate Entry ( 1 year) 40 $27 $30 Mid-level (2 4 yrs) 40 $30 $35 Senior (5 yrs) 40 $35 $40
  • Pennsylvania average is approximately $32.02/hour; upper quartile earns up to $35.67/hr and top earners up to $40/hr 12.

Job Summary

The PTA provides hands-on physical therapy treatment under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include delivering therapeutic interventions patient assessment documentation and coordination of care with interdisciplinary teams-all within facility protocols and state regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based therapies: therapeutic exercises manual therapy gait/balance training

  • Assist the PT in conducting patient assessments and modifying treatment plans

  • Monitor patient progress and accurately document in the EMR

  • Maintain equipment safety and set up treatment areas

  • Communicate with PT nursing staff and other departments to coordinate care

  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and safe practices

  • Adhere to infection control resident rights and HIPAA/privacy regulations

  • Participate in team meetings quality improvement and continuing education

Qualifications
  • Current active PTA licensure in Pennsylvania

  • Graduation from an accredited PTA program

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; AHA ACLS preferred

  • Strong communication clinical reasoning and time management skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Experience working in skilled nursing outpatient or rehab settings is preferred

Weekend Coverage
  • Occasional weekend shifts scheduled on a rotating basis or as client needs require

  • Staff will be compensated with differential pay (e.g. $2 $4/hr) or shift swap opportunities
