About:
The Mechanical HVAC Service Manager leads field operations for the HVAC service department managing technicians coordinating service delivery and ensuring safety quality and customer satisfaction. This role involves overseeing daily operations managing resources including fleet vehicles liaising with project teams and vendors and driving department performance aligned with company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule and dispatch HVAC technicians for timely efficient service and adapt to changing needs.
Lead train and evaluate the service team with regular performance reviews and development plans.
Manage customer relations by addressing inquiries and resolving complaints to ensure satisfaction.
Provide technical support and ensure all work complies with quality safety and regulatory standards.
Monitor field performance enforce safety protocols and provide guidance to technicians.
Conduct quality control reviews and recommend improvements.
Develop and implement training programs on service techniques and safety.
Oversee projects managing timelines budgets labor and documentation.
Ensure compliance with local state and federal HVAC regulations.
Manage inventory of parts and materials including service vehicle stock.
Maintain a safe work environment for team and customers.
Monitor job costs and identify improvements to maintain profitability.
Supervise daily service operations: maintenance diagnostics repairs and emergencies.
Collaborate with sales and project managers to align service and installation efforts.
Track KPIs such as response time first-call resolution and customer satisfaction.
Maintain accurate documentation of service calls quotes and follow-ups.
Stay current on industry trends equipment and technology.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC certification required.
Minimum 5 years of HVAC experience with hands-on technical expertise.
At least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role managing HVAC service teams.
Strong knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems (RTUs chillers boilers VRF controls).
Skilled in resource management (budgets schedules people materials).
Excellent leadership communication organizational analytical and customer service skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient with service management software (Coins) CMMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
Customer-focused with problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Technical writing skills for documentation and reporting.
