Junior Estimator
Sarasota Florida
Full-Time / Direct Hire
Seeking a motivated Junior Estimator to support cost estimating for pre-disaster recovery bids. Ideal for candidates with 1 3 years experience in estimating civil construction or disaster recovery eager to develop skills in emergency management and pricing strategies by working alongside senior estimators.
Responsibilities-
Review scopes of work and pricing requirements for disaster response bids.

Assist in building pricing models using historical data benchmarks and internal tools.

Prepare price sheets and comparative summaries for proposals.

Analyze government RFPs/contracts to ensure compliance with emergency management guidelines.

Perform quantity take-offs and basic cost analysis using satellite imagery and GIS data when applicable.

Collect subcontractor quotes material costs labor rates and bid documentation.

Track competitor pricing and market trends.

Maintain organized estimate libraries for past bids and strategies.

Collaborate with senior estimators on pricing refinement and complex tasks.

Support operations during project execution to align with estimated scopes.

1 3 years experience in estimating civil construction or disaster recovery.

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management Math Business or related field.

Willingness to travel to job sites.

Strong learning ability analytical and organizational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUP formulas); MS Office knowledge preferred.

Interest or experience in surge pricing and emergency logistics a plus.
Technical: Bid analysis pricing strategy cost modeling Microsoft Excel estimating software.
Interpersonal: Strong communication collaboration professionalism time management proactive mindset ability to meet deadlines enthusiasm for fast-paced mission-driven work.
