Job Description
- Design and develop advanced interactive data visualizations using React and related technologies.
- Lead and mentor a small team of visualization engineers providing technical guidance and conducting code reviews.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data scientists engineers product managers) to gather requirements and create effective visual storytelling solutions.
- Optimize rendering performance for large complex geospatial and temporal datasets.
- Ensure accessibility and responsiveness of visualizations across various devices and platforms.
- Maintain a scalable and maintainable codebase using best practices in testing performance and code structure.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in data visualization to drive team innovation.
- Utilize strong UI/UX skills to deliver compelling and intuitive user experiences.
- Required Skills: Proficiency in JavaScript HTML/CSS SQL; experience leading engineering projects/teams; experience with large datasets and APIs; familiarity with geospatial data formats.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with Carto JSON API integration CI/CD Java GIS/urban data state management design systems (Figma/Storybook) and agile environments.
