Job Description

RN-Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Permanent Role
  • Location: Plano TX 75093
  • Shift: 12 HR Nights 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
  • Compensation: Based on experience
Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients and prioritize care needs.
  • Develop implement and continually evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Recognize changes in patient conditions and respond appropriately.
  • Coordinate patient travel and transition care when necessary.
  • Provide education to patients families and staff to promote health and prevent complications.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams and the community to ensure continuity of care.
  • Delegate and follow up on nursing tasks with attention to detail.
  • Use clinical judgment and critical thinking to resolve patient care issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records.
  • Adhere to nursing laws hospital policies and ethical standards.
  • Demonstrate professionalism empathy and therapeutic communication at all times.
Essential Functions:
  • Build trusting relationships with patients and families.
  • Maintain professionalism manage discomfort and advocate for patients.
  • Ensure patient values are reflected in care decisions.
  • Empower patients and families with knowledge for better healthcare choices.
  • Participate in performance improvement and teamwork initiatives.
  • Support and mentor peers; contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Practice continuous learning and show a commitment to community health service.
Key Success Factors:
  • Strong knowledge of nursing standards patient care protocols and healthcare laws.
  • Proficient in medical terminology disease management and common medications.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Critical thinking and strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office EMRs and clinical documentation systems.
  • Commitment to patient privacy and professional ethics.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
  • Current and active RN license in the state of Texas.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Previous CVICU or ICU experience.
