Overview
The Automation Testing role that focuses on Selenium and Playwright is a critical position within our organization responsible for ensuring that our software applications meet the highest quality standards. This role involves designing and implementing automated tests that streamline our testing processes reduce manual effort and increase the speed of our deployment cycles. Automation Testers play a vital part in our Agile development environment collaborating closely with developers and quality assurance teams to deliver robust applications that satisfy customer requirements. As technology rapidly evolves the Automation Testing specialist will continually enhance the testing framework using the latest tools and techniques making them an essential asset for the success of our software development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and Playwright.
- Collaborate with the development and QA teams to understand requirements and define test scenarios.
- Create and execute comprehensive test plans that include functional regression and performance tests.
- Identify document and track defects in the software development process.
- Perform API testing and ensure the quality of back-end services.
- Integrate automated testing processes into CI/CD pipelines.
- Monitor and report on test results providing insights on software quality.
- Participate in peer reviews of test cases and scripts to ensure best practices are followed.
- Assist with troubleshooting and debugging of test failures and issues.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and best practices in test automation.
- Provide training or mentorship to junior testers on automation tools and practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
- Work closely with product owners to maintain traceability between requirements and tests.
- Participate in daily stand-ups and project retrospectives as part of the Agile team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless software delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing and automation.
- Proficient in writing automation scripts using Selenium WebDriver.
- Hands-on experience with Playwright for web application automation.
- Strong programming skills in Java JavaScript or similar languages.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or CircleCI.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams.
- Understanding of testing frameworks like TestNG or JUnit.
- Experience in performance testing tools like JMeter is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
