Job Description
The role of a Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) in English is vital in shaping the language and literary skills of students at the secondary level. As a PGT you will impart knowledge of English literature language and communication in a way that fosters a love for learning and enhances students analytical abilities. Your impact extends beyond the classroom nurturing critical thinking creativity and effective communication skills in your students. You will also be responsible for creating a comprehensive curriculum that not only meets educational standards but also captivates the interest of diverse learners. As a leader in education you will collaborate with parents colleagues and administration to ensure an environment conducive to academic success. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging English curriculum that aligns with school standards.
- Create lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
- Deliver high-quality instruction in English literature language and communication.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student participation.
- Use a variety of teaching methods and assessment tools to evaluate student progress.
- Support students in developing critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Encourage student engagement through interactive discussions and activities.
- Provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to enhance instructional strategies.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student performance and progress.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences to discuss student development.
- Participate in faculty meetings and contribute to school initiatives.
- Stay updated on educational research and trends in English education.
- Guide students in extra-curricular activities related to literature and public speaking.
- Support the overall mission of the institution and uphold its values.
Required Qualifications:
- Masters degree in English or Education with a focus on English literature.
- Teaching certification in English for secondary education.
- Minimum of 2 years experience teaching English at the secondary level.
- Strong knowledge of literary works grammar and writing skills.
- Experience in curriculum design and development.
- Ability to create a diverse and inclusive classroom environment.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate students.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with educational technology and digital resources.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
- Proficiency in assessment methods and data analysis.
- Experience in mentoring or leading student organizations is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing educational landscapes.
