Safety Program Development and Implementation
- Develop implement and enforce safety programs and policies tailored to IT infrastructure construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
Training and Education
- Provide safety training to construction and IT teams including subcontractors to ensure awareness of safety practices and regulations.
- Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Site Monitoring and Auditing
- Perform regular site inspections to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
- Document safety incidents near misses and violations; conduct thorough investigations and implement preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate safety records including OSHA logs and compliance documentation.
Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with project managers construction teams and IT staff to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and coordinate inspections or audits as required.
Emergency Preparedness and Response
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for construction sites.
- Lead safety drills and ensure all personnel are prepared for potential emergencies.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay updated on industry trends emerging safety technologies and changes to OSHA regulations.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve safety practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications :
- Education: Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety Environmental Science Engineering or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety management preferably within IT infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with safety challenges specific to data center and IT infrastructure construction.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively train teams and address safety concerns.
- Proficiency in using safety management software and tools.
