Job Description

The Team:

The Mattel Pennsylvania Distribution Center (PADC) is a fast paced high volume multi-shift and multi-location distribution center that handles B2B and DTC operations with two different technological systems.

The Opportunity:

The Senior Operation Manager is responsible for ensuring distribution center capability and high operations performance levels meet and exceed KPIs and Mattel customer expectations. The position has primary responsibility for several DC & Logistics project initiatives in a fast paced high volume multi-shift and multi-location distribution center that handles B2B and DTC channels operations through tow IT systems. The Senior Operations Manager is a key member of the DC leadership and will be responsible for the timely and on-budget completion of projects that will support the growth of DTC for Mattel Creations and American Girl (including retail) and support North America Distribution B2B Network as needed. This position will foster a continuous improvement culture as well as integrate effectively across Mattels Global Supply Chain. The Senior Operations Manager must possess interpersonal influencing financial acumen and project management skills to drive Collaboration Execution and Innovation.  An Industrial Engineering background fast paced DC operations experience and bilingual (Spanish) are preferred.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment and partner with DC Leadership in establishing current and future standards and procedures.
  • Drive and foster culture transformation aligned with Mattel culture and values.
  • Lead projects from requirement definition through deployment identifying schedules scopes budget estimations implementation plans and risk mitigation.
  • Coordinate internal Mattel and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope schedule and budget.
  • Collaborate and Influence with: a) other Mattel areas such as (but not limited) Distribution Centers across the network Transportation Inbound and Outbound Customer Service Commercial AG Retail EH&S Finance Logistics Continuous Improvement Human Resources Procurement Legal AG Retail Internal Audit; and b) external partners such as: customers carriers vendors IT solutions Consultants External Audit.
  • Analyze project status and if necessary revise the scope schedule or budget to ensure that project requirements can be met.
  • Drive continuous improvement culture identifying root cause analysis and corrective actions on project status and risks based on facts and data.
  • Work with direct and indirect reports to develop and implement plans that impact the distribution center.
  • Execute against project financial budget including capital expenses.
  • Analyze and propose solutions to project obstacles (layout space needs and utilization equipment needs capital expense projects major process changes).
  • Embrace network standard procedures metrics and best practices.
  • Collaborate with corporate partners and other Mattel DCs to ensure internal and external compliance requirements are met.

Qualifications :

What Were Looking For:

  • BA/ BS preferably in Industrial Engineering Logistics Business Administration or a related field and five or more years of experience in a distribution center or manufacturing facility as part of operations leadership or project management OR equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Professional certification in project management such as PMP or PRINCE2 preferred.
  • Able to forecast and plan budget develop and implement business and project plans and goals.
  • Able to collaborate with employees at all levels (supervisory staff management executive staff corporate partners).
  • Strong knowledge in Supply Chain Management.
  • Skilled at creating and maintaining functional and cross-functional partnerships.
  • Able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms in English.
  • Strong analytical reasoning and problem solving skills. Able to analyze and interpret reports graphs and other data.
  • Strong ability to influence internal and external parties.
  • Strong mathematic skills- ability to calculate figures such as percentages volume cost time.
  • Competent in MS Office Suites.
  • Customer and Consumer Oriented.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
