POSITION PURPOSE
The Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Environmental Health and Safety is responsible for managing the development and consistent implementation of safety health and environmental compliance programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Write and develop EHS programs for the portfolio as needed.
Lead team of Health & Safety professionals to ensure compliance with Federal State and Local regulations along with client requirements.
Develop Environmental Health & Safety vision strategy and policies including T5FMs Electrical Safety
Work Program (ESWP) and ensure employee engagement for a successful implementation.
Develop effective EHS and ESW programs analyze performance data and adjust programs as needed to foster a culture of continuous improvements.
Implement subcontractor safety management program to include EHS orientation ongoing evaluation and jobsite observations.
Coordinate the implementation of company initiatives including contract deliverables traffic/vehicle and electrical safety and health initiatives.
Develop predictive risk analysis program to identify hazards and provide preventative actions to mitigate potential health and safety concerns.
Determine appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track performance against targets and objectives.
Deploy safety industrial hygiene and environmental processes which demonstrate continuous improvement towards preventing accidents eliminating hazards and minimizing environmental impact. Oversee inspections audits and site reviews with clients and regulatory and security agencies at the local and state level.
Qualifications :
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate degree or equivalent experience required
5 years of EH&S compliance experience required
2 years of managerial experience leading teams required Certification as a CSP CIH CPEA or CHMM preferred
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES
Thorough understanding of all relevant safety rules and regulations
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate employees to achieve long term vision while adjusting to daily challenges.
Ability to challenge explain and defend safety programs with diplomacy.
Excellent organizational skills with high level of attention to detail.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills and ability to coach and train others.
