What you will need to do:
- Prepares of coordinates/shop and as-built drawings
- initiates and manages the preparation of the cost estimate in accordance with the company policies procedures and specific requirements as identified for the tender by the Sales Manager and/or Regional Tendering Manager.
- Obtains a clear understanding of the tender requirements and formulates the same in instructions to the disciplined staff involved.
- Uses arrangements of joint venture pre-tender agreements during the tender preparation.
- Establishes the costs of the tender or part thereof.
- Carries out appraisal and detail analysis of the available tender documents and liaises with other departments to provide/ prepare the same.
- Timely delivers the estimates for the works in regards of both direct and indirect costs and identifies their quality for risk analysis purposes.
- Co-ordinates with other departments for specialist advice and the timely availability of proposals regarding design work methods and equipment to be used including schedules.
- Prepares and defends the final tender value as an advice to the Sales Manager/ Regional Manager and ensures timely submittal of the tender on the basis thereof.
- Participates in subsequent negotiations with the Client and other third parties
What you will need to have:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 or more years estimating experience on Heavy Civil EPC Projects..
- The option to work from Egypt or join an overseas project.
- Proven experience working on at least two completed projects of similar scope and complexity. (International project experience is highly recommended)
- Strong understanding in:
- Lead Estimating Operations
- Tender Preparation and Coordination
- Risk and Cost Analysis
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Bid Strategy and Value Engineering
- Estimate Validation and Presentation
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills are essential. The ability to communicate effectively with US Government personnel is crucial.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working on US Government projects is highly preferred. This includes familiarity with the USACE (US Army Corps of Engineers) standards OBO and other relevant regulations.
What it is nice to have:
- Previous working experience as Chief Estimator (Civil Specialization) with EPC/Heavy Industrial construction company preferably in Marine Infrastructure Projects would be an added advantage
