    STARTING SALARY:
    $23.87 - $25.35
    $49650 - $52728

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This work involves responsibility for operation and maintenance of Fleet Services for the Howard County Department of Police. Receives stores and issues equipment material supplies merchandise or tools and compiles stock records in the Quartermaster Section or warehouse location. Using the SAP inventory system tracks accounts for and records inventory.

    CLASS DESCRIPTION:

    Performs advanced technical level operations service work which may include supervisory responsibility under general supervision from an administrative or technical superior. Work involves leader level responsibility for an operations activity. Work includes operating complex equipment and overseeing staff and assuming responsibility for one or more operational programs within a division; advanced inventory control of critical equipment and supplies; supervising mail services work; directing the school crossing guard program; and operating maintaining and assisting with the management of facilities such as parks and animal shelters.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

    Works and cooperates with co-workers and supervisors at all levels.

    Learns and performs all essential job functions accurately.

    Oversees daily front desk activities to ensure smooth and professional operations

    Coordinate the distribution of renewed registrations for fleet.

    Coordinate and maintain EZ Pass inventory including billing vehicle database and transponder distribution.

    Maintains the ballistic vest database and coordinates vest fittings to ensure accurate records and proper equipment allocation

    Maintains precise inventory records within the SAP system to ensure operational efficiency and data integrity

    Enters and maintains records of serial-numbered equipment in inventory management systems.

    Maintains inventory of used uniforms to ensure availability organization and accurate tracking.

    Coordinate receive and verify return of issued equipment for each employee upon separation along with returning this equipment to originating sections.

    Verifies that requisitions are legible complete and accurate and include appropriate funding sources when required. Prepares scans and files documents to ensure proper maintenance and organization within the Records and Information Management (RIM) system

    Process confirmations for inventory and requests from Budget/Fiscal Section.

    Assist with daily operations of the Quartermaster Section to include but not limited to: sending and receiving shipments; updating inventory in the SAP system; ordering supplies when needed; distributing supplies and equipment to employees and other components; stocking equipment received in proper warehouse location.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    High School Diploma or GED and 3 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS MATHEMATICAL SKILLS AND REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures or government regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers clients customers and the general public.

    Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

    Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

    Possession of a valid drivers license.
