Job Summary

The Sales Director for Dixie Chemicals Paper & Pulp products will be responsible for developing a go to market strategy selling our functional products directly to the end use mills. The Sales Director will have the opportunity to build a regional team of sales technical service and other members to support the growth of the business. This global role involves working with customers to develop and implement solutions using functional chemicals that enhance the paper carboard and tissue making successful candidate will leverage technical knowledge to meet customer needs deliver tailored solutions and contribute to the overall growth of the company in this segment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Leading a $50M revenue global business with double digit year on year growth.
  • Driving sales and revenue growth for key functional chemicals including ASA (Sizing) Polymers Wet Strength Resin Rosin AKD etc.
  • Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities managing existing customer relationships and negotiating contracts.
  • Developing and executing market strategies:Understanding market trends competitor activity and customer needs to create and implement effective strategies.
  • Creating and leading a team:Building managing and developing a high-performing team that eventually could be 12 or more members.
  • Managing key accounts and relationships:Building strong relationships with customers at various levels including senior management.
  • Technical support and problem-solving:Working closely with customers to address technical challenges and provide solutions related to chemical applications in papermaking.
  • Understanding papermaking processes and chemistry:Having in-depth knowledge of functional chemicals used in the pulp and paper industry knowledge of competitors and suppliers specific to these industries.
  • Active participating member of the Dixie Chemical leadership team engaging in and collaborating with cross-functional teams

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors in Chemistry Chemical Engineering or Paper & Pulp Science.
  • 20 years in direct sales of Paper & Pulp Functional Chemicals (ASA Wet Strength etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of chemical formulations and additives.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • Proven ability to meet sales targets and manage client relationships.
  • Excellent communication negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and industry events
  • Experience with managing corporate driven RFQs and other forms of bids.
  • Experience with University of Maine and other key organizations in the Pulp and Paper industry.
  • Established network in the Paper and Pulp industry.

Physical Requirements and Environment:

  • Remote position preferably based in the Southeast United States Region
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Travel required for client engagement and industry events.
