Job Description Position: AVP - Data & Cloud Transformation Location: Santa Clara California United States Job Type: Full-time Job Responsibilities: Lead initiatives in data transformation and cloud migration strategies primarily utilizing AWS and Azure platforms. Oversee the architecture and solution design processes to modernize existing data platforms using Databricks Snowflake Python and SQL. Collaborate closely with stakeholders to achieve business objectives through effective data engineering practices. Engage in pre-sales activities presenting technical solutions and strategies to prospective clients. Maintain a hands-on approach to technology to ensure the team remains fueled by practical solutions and insights. Execute leadership duties to drive team performance and cultivate professional development opportunities. Facilitate four rounds of interviews focusing on technical skills architecture and design choices and leadership capabilities for potential candidates. Essential Qualifications: Minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Engineering with proven expertise in Databricks Snowflake Python and SQL. Strong background in transformation efforts and cloud migration projects especially in AWS and Azure environments. Experience in Solution Architecting and Modernization strategies in the data space. Proven experience in pre-sales functions demonstrating a capability to connect technical solutions with business needs. Excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. Must reside in the Bay Area to facilitate hybrid work arrangements. Prior experience with stability in employment is mandatory; candidates from Redwood are not eligible. Desired Experience: Thorough understanding of data engineering tools and practices along with current trends in cloud technology.
