Job Description
Overview
The Mother Teacher is a critical role in nurturing and guiding young children during their formative years. This position is pivotal in fostering a safe inclusive and stimulating environment where children feel valued and motivated to explore their surroundings. As a Mother Teacher you will undertake the dual responsibility of teaching foundational skills while also providing emotional support and guidance to both students and their families. You will cultivate a love for learning through engaging activities that promote cognitive social and physical development. The Mother Teacher will collaborate with parents caregivers and education professionals to implement tailored educational programs that meet the diverse needs of children ensuring each child reaches their full potential. Additionally the role encompasses routine assessments of childrens progress and development while addressing any learning or behavioral challenges. By creating a nurturing atmosphere where children are encouraged to ask questions and make discoveries the Mother Teacher plays a significant part in shaping the eagerness for lifelong learning among students which is essential in foundational education.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
- Create a safe warm and welcoming classroom environment.
- Foster childrens social emotional and intellectual development.
- Engage parents and families in the learning process.
- Conduct regular assessments to evaluate childrens progress.
- Monitor individual childs development and identify any specific needs.
- Encourage and inspire curiosity through hands-on learning experiences.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies.
- Promote positive behavior and conflict resolution among students.
- Collaborate with other educators and specialists to ensure holistic development.
- Maintain accurate records of students achievements and issues.
- Conduct parent-teacher meetings to discuss children s progress.
- Encourage creativity and expression through art and play.
- Integrate technology in teaching methods when appropriate.
- Stay updated with best practices and educational advancements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Teaching certification for early childhood education (preferred).
- Experience in a teaching or caregiving role with young children.
- Strong understanding of child development principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a collaborative and supportive classroom environment.
- Experience incorporating play-based learning methods.
- Knowledge of educational technology and resources.
- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Patience and strong interpersonal skills.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus.
- Passionate about educating and inspiring young learners.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends if necessary.
- Understanding of special education practices (preferred).
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development.
