Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Office Manager/ Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations of our automotive dealership. The ideal candidate will play a key leadership role in managing the dealerships financial integrity internal controls compliance and reporting. This role requires a proactive hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in automotive accounting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the accounting operations including A/R A/P payroll general ledger and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and operational reports.
- Ensure compliance with all local state and federal reporting requirements.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard dealership assets.
- Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships.
- Supervise and develop accounting staff and office personnel.
- Work closely with department managers to provide financial insights and support budgeting efforts.
- Coordinate annual audit and liaise with external auditors.
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of all dealership transactions including vehicle sales repair orders and warranty submissions.
- Implement and maintain dealership accounting procedures and policies in line with industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field (CPA preferred but not required).
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience preferably in a dealership or automotive retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of dealership accounting software (Automate CDK Reynolds & Reynolds Dealertrack).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Strong leadership communication and organizational skills.
- High attention to detail accuracy and confidentiality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
