Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Rhondda Cynon Taf to assist with the appointment of a Clerical Assistant on a 2.5-month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 12.21 - 15.95 per hour

Summary:

The Clerical Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to the Enquiry & Assessment Team (EAT) within the Childrens Services Business Support Team. This team plays a key role in supporting Social Work staff conducting initial assessments and determining ongoing support for families. The postholder will help ensure that case information is processed accurately efficiently and in compliance with local authority guidance and protocols.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative support including data entry correspondence photocopying filing and document management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate input of sensitive information into council databases and systems.
  • Handle routine communications via telephone email and post maintaining a professional and confidential approach.
  • Support the coordination and scheduling of meetings including preparing agendas taking minutes and distributing documents.
  • Assist with the tracking and processing of referrals assessments and follow-ups.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a clerical or administrative role within a busy office environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word Excel Outlook).
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail particularly in data entry and document handling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in both office and remote settings.
  • Understanding of the need for confidentiality and accuracy when dealing with sensitive information.
